Thought-Provoking Debate Re: Use Of Anti-Semitism & Israel's Human Rights Record
Yesterday, Democracy Now! hosted the following debate (moderated by Amy Goodman) between DePaul University's Professor Norman Finkelstein and former Israeli Foreign Minister Shlomo Ben-Ami.
Description, from the website:
Norman Finkelstein argues that some supporters of Israeli government policies have attempted to de-legitimize criticism by disingenuously heaping the charge of anti-Semitism. Shlomo Ben Ami defends Israel's record on human rights, and says peace will only come about through a negotiated two-state settlement.
Highly recommended read (page also provides links to A/V versions; I haven't had the chance to watch/listen yet).
I don't want to spoil "the read" for you, but I must note that I had no idea that Israel currently holds 9,000 Palestinian political prisoners.
